mmmm. what to write. what to write. I’m a little perplexed as to what this blog should be about. Though I’m not quite sure, I do know that with time and regular postings, blogs tend to take shape. Right? I hope.

I use to have an ongoing blog. It was a few years old when I decided to end my children’s clothing business. Because the blog was started to market my clothing line, I deleted it when I stopped creating children’s clothing. At the time it was quite a weight off my shoulders to hit that big delete button and have no other choice but to move on. That’s just how I am. I like things clean cut. Without loose ends pulling me back. But now, I somewhat regret my quick decision and wish that I had at least preserved the posts for myself.

Blogs can become so personal! You don’t realize how many memories come streaming back just by reading some snippets of what you wrote a couple years ago or viewing a photo that you haven’t seen since the week it was taken.

Like these. Wow are the memories flooding back. I can remember where and when I designed these and where we went to take the photos. Very very few of my children’s clothing photos have ever been printed. So because of a terrible memory, most of these outfits had been completely forgotten. Most my clothing was 1-offs or maybe two or three of a kind at most. So there were literally 100’s of designs over the years. That’s a lot to remember!
(So to anyone thinking of ending a blog, don’t hit the delete button too hastily! Make a book through blurb.com to preserve your journal.)

These children’s clothing photos are some of my past designs…sorry, none will be available. Just sharing a glimpse of what I use to do.

At the time I hit delete on the blog, I didn’t realize that I would ever have a sewing business again. I thought that I’d continue my illustration work, maybe start a photography business, or even do nothing for a while. Little did I know that God had a big cross-country move planned for us and that once we’d settle, I’d have a passion for creating with textiles again. My old blog may have nicely converged with this one, but alas, I start over and hope that eventually my little postings here and there will give you a glimpse behind the scenes.
Until next time!

As I dream of warmth and the beach I couldn’t help but create these two beachy colored pillows. Sand and surf. Click on “products” to purchase. The smaller is cashmere and the larger is wool. Both made of recycled materials of course!

Could it be? A warming trend in our future? It’s supposed to hit 40 soon which will seem like the beach after so many frigid days. Photo taken during our beach vacation last summer.
We’ve added a contact us page to the site. For custom orders, comments, anything. We’d love to hear your suggestions and any other notes you’d like to send!
As you can see from the gallery of photos below, our original rolled rose scarf design can be customized in so many ways. The sky is the limit for color combinations.
Please contact us if you have a specific desire. We’d love to work with you!
We are enjoying a snow day that cancelled school…yay, it’s not often that we have nowhere to go and nothing on the schedule!
Of course I always have orders to work on these days but today I decided to take a quick break from sewing.
A little glimpse of our activities.
First. Snowflake themed jars. Idea from here. Using tissue paper and watered down white school glue we decoupaged all sorts of blues, white and silver snowflakes. As soon as they are dry, I’ll be adding a votive candle to each one.

Up next was lunch. Eaten out of the trays from our valentine candy to make things fun.

Then our pet monster ate toys as well as silly little boys and girls. Idea from here.

And finally, watching our pet monster eat made us hungry. So we ate snowmen. Idea adapted from here.

As much as we long for spring, we are trying to enjoy each day. No matter how much white stuff comes our way! Happy Monday!
frightful! We are watching the walls of our house shake from the winds of a blizzard. Fun Fun! Actually, it wasn’t a bad thing to have a good excuse to stay home and cuddle up with a book or complete a task that has been on the to-do list for a while. I’m trying to convince myself, can you tell?
I’m afraid my supplies are slow to come due to the weather so for those of you waiting on certain colors… sorry, the wait will probably continue. Not only has mail been sporadic but wool and cashmere supplies getting here has been delayed as well. But all in due time. Thanks for your patience!
We are taking advantage of the nice packable snow and creating some lasting memories for the kiddos. Check out the wild ride down our front lawn. It started getting so fast that helmets weren’t a bad idea. lol!
Hope you might enjoy a sled ride or two if you have snow! I promise, Spring will be here before we know it. Or at least that is what I keep telling myself.

Ah, it feels great to be “product productive”. After all the work on the site design, I thought I’d never find time again to actually create! But this week the workspace is nearing pillow overload. If you are one of the many who have put in a color request, thank you! I’m working my way through them all.

…that the groundhog will go back into his hole for 6 more weeks. Good ol El Nino is giving us all a winter to remember it seems. Will we be asking each other “Remember the winter of 2010?” in our old age. It’s looking that way!
Our 10-14″ snow turned out only to be just 6-7″. No complaints from us!
