Shipping for Christmas

All orders are going out quickly! The same day or the next day (depending on the time the order comes in and whether the postman has come and gone already).

So you have more then enough time to place your scarf, pillow and market bag orders. I’ll be shipping right up until Christmas and can even offer overnight shipping as the big day gets closer. If you have any concerns about shipping times or questions about the products, feel free to use the contact form and I’ll respond asap!

Warmly,

Angie

It’s beginning…

…to look a little like Christmas around here!

But only just a little. Thanks to living in tree country we found a fabulous tree for a whopping $18. Once we got it in the house, Jeff and I reminisced about our first Christmas tree—a tiny little 4 foot tree that cost an arm and a leg (we lived in Austin, Texas where all trees are shipped in). We tucked it in between our oversized couch and an armchair. Putting it up on an end table and disquising the table with a tree skirt and gifts made the short squatty tree look taller.

The needles all fell off before Christmas if I remember right. Ah, good memories.

Slowly but surely we are starting our Christmas celebrations. Our dog chewed through the beautiful lights Jeff put on the front of the house but even that I’m sure we’ll laugh at down the road. I’m looking forward to a simple, relaxed and heart-felt Christmas, celebrating Christ’s birth!  How about you?

Warmly,

Angie

New! Market Totes now available online.

Not only are the hair flowers now available on the site, but I was also able to get market totes up today! Links to the different printed, striped and solid styles are on the left. A great low price item that might help you cross off more of your Christmas gift list!

Soon we’ll have some rose styles ready as well!

New! Petite Hair Flowers

New to the site! Our petite felted wool hair flowers are now available to online shoppers. Many of you have seen these locally and they’ve been so popular that I haven’t had enough to put them on the website. But finally, here they are! Click on the “Hair Accessories” link to the left. Each is a sweet 1 1/2 inch size and is attached to a strong alligator clip. They stay put—even in very fine hair.

They come on a card backer which makes them great for gift giving. Watch for more colors over the coming weeks.

It’s a….

Ultrasound results! I’m at 18 weeks now, feeling movement and hitting that second trimester sweet spot. Finally able to eat again and have grown a bit of a baby belly. Good times.

Last week we went for my ultrasound in the “big city”. It was a fun day of seeing baby, Christmas shopping, and celebrating. Seeing tiny hands, a beating heart, and the sweet profile of a baby in utero never fail to amaze.

Like our other two children, we had the technician write down the gender and seal it up in an envelope for us. During our shopping excursion later in the day the boys picked out a baby boy outfit and us girls picked out a girly outfit. We then opened the envelope to see which we would be purchasing. You can see below!

We are very excited to be adding another son to our family. Noah is already requesting bunk beds. ;-) And Cora is pleased not to have to share a room (though was a bit sad to have to put the cute little pink ruffly outfit back on the rack).

It’s been almost 7 years since we’ve had a baby in the house and we kept nothing but a crib. Time to go shopping (and borrowing)!

New Sale Section!

We’ve added a sale section to the site! A number of scarves and other items have been put on sale—many of which are nice neutrals tones. Great Christmas gifts!

Since I work with recycled wool and cashmere sweaters for all my products, I can’t be choosey in regards to what colors by supplier sends (I get 1000 pounds per shipment usually!) so that means lots of neutral scarves in blacks and tans and grays are made. Not a bad thing, as the neutrals are some of the best sellers. But because I have an overabundance, I thought I’d pass some savings on.  (And try to keep from having 100 black scarves left at the end of the season. ha!)

Hope you are enjoying your Christmas decorating and festivities!

For the locals! Holiday Market on Saturday…

Peeking out the window this morning revealed our first measurable snowfall.

So pretty. And a reminder that Christmas and winter is just a few weeks away.

PS: Thanks to all who came to the holiday market yesterday…it went smashingly! :-)

Thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! We’ve enjoyed every minute of our long Thanksgiving weekend and I hope you have too! In the 14 years we’ve been married, we have celebrated Thanksgiving with friends more than we have with family. A side effect of living far from either of our families. But that’s ok…the more people in our Thanksgiving memories the better! Thanks to our friends, Scott and Rachel and their wonderful extended family and neighbors, we once again stuffed ourselves with turkey and all the fixing. My contribution were the vegetable sides. One of which was green bean casserole. You really must try Alton Brown’s recipe or another where you make your own soup base. It puts canned mushroom soup and those weird fried onions to shame!

This is simple and trite compared to the big things I am very thankful for, but being able to enjoy the food was pretty high on my “I’m thankful for:” list. My eyes were way bigger than my stomach. Being 2nd trimester pregnant definitely has its benefits during the holidays! ha!

At the very top of my list though is that as a Christian, I have One to express my thanksgiving to. God has done so much for us it is hard to even express in words. He gives us true peace, joy, and thanksgiving!

Have a wonderful end to your Thanksgiving weekend!

Warmly,

Who is shopping this weekend? All I can think about is how much dark meat turkey I plan to pile on my plate tomorrow. ;-) Baby has been craving it for 3 full days now and I can’t wait!

I don’t do sales often but because I wanted to pass on a little savings to you for Thanksgiving and participate in a little of the “Black Friday” shopping frenzy, I’ve made a coupon code for you!

Type in GRAY (it is case sensitive so make sure you capitalize) and every item on this website with the word Gray in the product name will be discounted $5. Here are just a few of the gorgeous gray selections:

Project 365: August – May

If you have read this little blog the past year, you might remember I was attempting to create something every day of the year. And shared some of those creations each week with you. Whether it was something crafty or just the family dinner, I managed for 6 months to meet the goal. But then, unexpected travel this summer and now the unexpected on-going pregnancy nausea (yes, still!) have curtailed my plans. But all is good.

God is doing the knitting and creating! And through the rest of the year, a tiny child is growing. Much better than anything I could ever create.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139: 13″

Baby is now the size of an orange and has tiny fingers and toes. Even toenails! Amazing. Next week I have an ultrasound and we will likely be able to find out if baby is a boy or a girl. Exciting times! I’ll be sure to share.

As I was looking through old photos I did find one project that I hadn’t shown you. This summer I was doing sewing lessons with my daughter and her final project before we started traveling was a pillow. It was something I had been wanting to make myself but hadn’t gotten around to—thankfully, as it turned into a great project for her. No explanation this time, just photos. She did a great job!

Warmly,
